Three ways to build an AI app: single agent, agent team, or graph workflow
rseroter · x · 2026-11-07
Annie Wang's video breaks down three architectures for building AI apps, nicely captured in one diagram:
- Single agent: one agent plus tools, choosing the next action—most flexible.
- Agent team: a coordinator delegates to specialized sub-agents (shipping, billing), each with tools.
- Graph workflow: code, agents, checks, human-in-the-loop, and functions wired as an explicit graph—most structured and controllable.
They sit along a flexibility-to-structure spectrum, a useful frame for picking your agent design.
