LangChain's deepagents Adds Browser Use and Async Subagents
LangChain · x · 2026-11-07
LangChain ships two deepagents updates targeting proactive, autonomous agents:
1. Browser use (via Stagehand)
- Lets agents click, scroll, and fill forms in a real browser, covering web work APIs can't reach (booking travel, canceling subscriptions, filing claims);
- curl can't fetch post-JavaScript pages, making a browser essential;
- DataDome saw agentic browser requests jump 4.7x in September; personal agents like Instinct and Meta's Muse already work this way;
- Managed Deep Agents runs the hosted browser with context-efficient tools, thread/user-scoped sessions, and human handoffs with credentials persisted across sessions.
2. Async subagents
- The main agent stays available to users while background tasks run; blog posts and docs included.
