Gemini + MCP driving invideo editor turns raw drift footage into a finished edit
Neat_Bit1936 · reddit · 2026-11-07
A Reddit user connected Gemini to the free invideo editor via MCP and had it cut a Red Bull Moto Jam drift clip for Instagram automatically:
- Gemini kept the original clip as the base and marked beats on the music
- It added speed ramps and stutter effects, colour grading, and text
- It finished with drift-in/drift-out SFX layered around the main audio
The full timeline screenshot shows how each layer comes together — a hands-on example of wiring a chat model to a real editor through MCP for automated short-video editing.
