Jiayuan shares his agent merge workflow prompt with confidence-scored triage
jiayuan_jy · x · 2026-11-07
Jiayuan shares the full prompt behind his agent-driven merge workflow, with a screenshot of the agent actually merging PR #10077. The workflow: (1) check conflicts/CI first, fix them, but hold off on major or decision-requiring changes and ping the human; (2) merge directly if clean; (3) search the repo for related issues/PRs, comment on them as the agent (labeling comments as automated), and close them if appropriate; (4) review the PR for lessons worth persisting, assign each a confidence score, and auto-open issues for anything above 70% — never force-write filler. The screenshot shows impressively careful execution: verifying squash merge and green CI, explaining why two related PRs shouldn't be closed, and producing a confidence-scored list (40%-75%) with one item already turned into a tracked issue.
