Amazon launches texting Alexa to shop for millions of users after blocking Meta's Muse

Amazon is launching a feature that lets US customers shop by texting its Alexa AI agent in natural language — searching items, adding to cart, and purchasing, plus managing lists, price tracking, cross-web search, and order status. It will roll out to millions of users in coming weeks, timed just before the holiday shopping season.
Notably, Amazon blocked Meta's Muse agent from querying its site in September; now it's building its own agentic shopping entry point, part of the scramble over who owns the agent-driven commerce funnel.
