xuanalogue · x · 2026-11-06
An NUS professor notes Singapore's PhD nationality quota makes it easier for applicants from other countries to get in. Workarounds include joining as a research assistant on a work visa while doing a "part-time" PhD, which is currently not subject to the quota. His department is also building recruitment pipelines to Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
