Grok-built 3D runner Scrappy Yard impresses with its design 'taste'
chongdashu · x · 2026-11-06
Developer chongdashu built Scrappy Yard, a Crash Bandicoot-inspired 3D scrapyard runner made with Grok, now playable free in the browser on wavedash with touch and controller support. You play a raccoon running toward the camera, dodging barrels and junk cars while collecting hex nuts, built with WebGPU/WebGL2.
What impressed him most was the model's 'taste': running away from the screen is the norm in this genre, toward it is much harder — and Grok chose the harder, more intuitive direction.
