Incremental GraphRAG indexing: content hashes, provenance and scoped retraction
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-11-06
FalkorDB's walkthrough tackles the hard part of GraphRAG: keeping a knowledge graph fresh without duplicates, stale relationships or accidental deletions. The incremental indexing recipe: content hashes so entities/relationships are rewritten only when they actually change; provenance tracking recording which document and extraction batch produced each fact; and scoped retraction so removals only affect facts introduced by a specific source, preventing full rebuilds from wiping valid knowledge. Demonstrated on FalkorDB (Redis-based, OpenCypher) but applicable to any GraphRAG pipeline.
