Tesla winding down Cybertruck production next year to make way for Cybercab
tomwarren · x · 2026-11-06
Elon Musk said Tesla will "wind down" Cybertruck production at its Texas Gigafactory around mid-next year to ramp up Cybercab output. The Austin plant is the only known Cybertruck assembly site, and analyst estimates peg total deliveries at roughly 70,000 since its 2023 launch — far below Musk's once-projected 250,000 per year. The truck has also faced recalls, safety issues, and design bans in many countries.
