Kuaishou's BRIDGE closes the Semantic Quantization Gap in generative recommendation
_reachsumit · x · 2026-11-06
Kuaishou identifies the Semantic Quantization Gap (SQG) in generative recommendation: decoders receive only discrete Semantic IDs, losing the continuous structure (codebook centroids, neighborhood geometry, level-wise entropy) that shaped them. BRIDGE injects frozen quantizer centroids as anchors, uses privileged EMA self-distillation to transfer neighborhood-aware knowledge, and allocates more compute to harder early levels. Improves recall across three Amazon benchmarks.
