AI bubble debate: liquidity drying up, but are OpenAI and Anthropic really immune?
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-11-06
A clash over whether the AI buildout can survive tightening liquidity. The quoted tphuang post lists warning signs: 10-year yield at 4.86%, diesel over $6/gallon, frozen housing, record hedge fund blowups, and neoclouds losing bond-market access — questioning where the money for Anthropic and OpenAI's buildout will come from as their valuations sink.
The attached image goes further: Japan and Middle Eastern funds run out of money, liquidations are happening now ("one day a neocloud CEO says all is fine, the next day they're out of money"), and OpenAI and Anthropic are not immune — expect firms to further limit token usage in a downturn.
teortaxesTex disagrees: the macro read is fair, but OpenAI and Anthropic play by different rules and may even become safe havens as the old economy melts down — though buildout scale may need adjusting.
