Jeff Dean teams with Laude Institute and top computer scientists to fund open science moonshots

Jeff Dean announced a partnership with the Laude Institute, joined by Sanjay Ghemawat, John Hennessy, Dave Patterson, Ben Gomes and Andy Konwinski, to fund "open science moonshots."
Konwinski framed the motivation: incentives for frontier open science are broken, compute costs alone price out most teams, and the bet is that giving the right resources to the right researchers at the right time can change that.
