Conductor shuts down after Meta acquisition; cherry π ships a one-command migration path
sull · x · 2026-11-06
Conductor (acquired by Meta) will make its cloud workspaces read-only on Nov 13 and shut them down on Nov 20; the Mac app stops receiving models and fixes in early 2027. Open-source coding-agent tool cherry π published a migration guide preserving Conductor's signature loop: task gets its own repo copy and branch, an agent works there, you review the diff and merge.
Key migration points:
- Setup/run scripts stored in .conductor/settings.toml are imported via the Conductor addon: picache conductor import
- Each goal keeps a block of ten ports and compatible CONDUCTORPORT-style env vars
- Workspaces map to cherry π goals (copy-on-write copies or worktrees)
- Not yet ported: custom run actions, archive scripts, runmode — picache conductor lists gaps
cherry π has no cloud service yet; a private beta is open.
