Independent audit: RoundSquare's zero-axiom Lean 4 proof compiles cleanly but doesn't resolve Clay Yang–Mills
kevrussell · x · 2026-11-06
The honesty.tools team independently verified RoundSquare's claim of the "world's first zero-axiom Lean 4 proof negatively resolving the Clay Yang–Mills Millennium Problem."
What held:
- The repo builds; all 114 #print axioms audits report zero axiom dependencies, no sorry/admit
- Mathlib-free and locally reproducible
What did not:
- The formalization does not match the Clay canonical statement: no gauge group G, flags on ℝ⁴ rather than QFT, only a five-flag OS, class-relative no-go
Bottom line: the kernel certified the proof, not the headline. Notably, 74 theorems were advertised vs 114 audits present, and CI does not assert COUNT==74.
