Smartsheet launches vsActual, an AI planning product aimed at CEOs that cuts alert-to-fix time to ~30 minutes

At ENGAGE 2026 in Seattle, Smartsheet launched vsActual, a planning-and-execution product targeting CEOs, CFOs and COOs — moving the company up from project managers to decision makers.
- Capabilities: unifies strategy decks, budget memos and spreadsheets into one plan, tracks execution drift across systems, and flags gaps; agents work from Smart Assist or external assistants, with an MCP server already supporting ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini.
- Demo: 45 initiatives scored against a $42M funding line (37 funded, $800K held back); when a Slack post surfaced a subcontractor portal that would delay go-live by nine weeks, vsActual caught the unsynced scope, proposed three recovery options, and routed the spend-touching recommendation to the CEO — alert to approved fix in about 30 minutes.
- Analysis: the author argues the direction is right, the keynote undersold the value of customers' years of organizational data, and vsActual opens a path to separate the company brand from its product.
