METR report: AI is accelerating AI capability gains inside Anthropic

Since August, METR — the evaluation outfit known for tracking frontier model capabilities — has worked with internal Anthropic information to assess whether AI itself is accelerating AI development, and has now published its risk assessment report.
The upshot, per the poster: METR found evidence that AI is speeding up the growth of AI capabilities, and sees no near-term reasons this trend might hit a bottleneck. See the companion post with detailed quotes for specifics.
