Investor accuses Anthropic of pumping his startup's engineers for secrets before launching rival Claude Personal Finance
Scobleizer · x · 2026-11-06
Angel investor Anthony Pompliano alleges that starting in April, Anthropic heavily courted the engineering team of Silvia, an "AI CFO" startup (20k+ investors, $60B+ assets tracked), fishing for product architecture and technical details under the guise of admiring its growth — including a steak dinner where someone said "this is on Dario." The team declined to share sensitive info.
Months later Anthropic launched Claude Personal Finance in US beta: users connect accounts and ask questions about their balances and transactions in plain language, read-only, with Claude unable to move or invest money. Pompliano reads this as confirmation Anthropic was gathering intel to build a competing product.
