General Catalyst launched the GC Research Fellowship with Modal, giving 20 exceptional undergraduates up to $25,000 each in compute. After visiting universities, GC found undergrads doing rigorous work on model reasoning, evaluation methods, and AI for science — all held back by the same bottleneck: compute. Applications are now open; Modal's CEO Bernhardsson publicly endorsed the program.
