Foresight Institute released its 40th Year Impact Report, tracing four decades of backing molecular nanotechnology, secure AI, neurotech, longevity biotech and space. Key numbers: 266 fellows supported since 2017 at a 1.8% acceptance rate, $9.8M granted across programs, 453 online seminars since 2020, and 84% of surveyed researchers reporting substantial impact from Foresight-related input, with roughly 1M viewers of affiliated projects. The letter highlights recent wins like the fruit fly connectome mapping and a mechanosynthesis preprint from the Foresight community, and argues AI applied to science will accelerate discovery further.
