Google Cloud announced the general availability of Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, a video generation and editing model built for high-volume business videos like product demos, virtual try-ons, and ads.
Key updates:
- 30% cheaper: $0.07 per second of 720p video, with similar savings at other resolutions
- Longer clips: up from 10s to 15 seconds for generation and editing
- Stronger reference adherence: keeps products, characters, and brand details consistent across shots
- Draft-then-upscale workflow: draft at 360p/720p, upscale to 1080p or 4K
- More natural speech: fluid dialogue, clearer lip-sync, multi-speaker conditioning
- Conversational editing: swap products, change lighting or camera angles on the same clip
Caveats: audio references are gated behind allowlisting; outputs carry imperceptible SynthID watermarks; Provisioned Throughput is supported. Available in Gemini for business, Google Vids, and via API.
