Claude models coming to Microsoft Copilot in the EU with in-boundary data processing by end of 2026
clamanna · x · 2026-11-06
Microsoft announced that Anthropic's Claude models will come to Microsoft Copilot for EU and EFTA customers, with processing inside the EU Data Boundary by the end of 2026—across experiences including Copilot Cowork and the 'auto' model router. This removes the previous trade-off between accessing Claude and honoring Microsoft's regional data-processing commitments. The EU Data Boundary is Microsoft's voluntary commitment to store and process Microsoft 365 service data within the EU/EFTA, included for eligible customers at no extra cost, with optional in-country data residency in 10 countries.
