Open-source local coding agent dl.new launches with 50M free DeepSeek tokens per week
ikanez · x · 2026-11-05
An indie developer launched dl (Directionally Local), an open-source coding agent/harness pitched as "the coding agent nobody can take away" — it runs entirely on your own machine with no external kill switch. Available for macOS/Linux/Windows (WSL) via a one-line curl install.
Default model is DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: sign up for 50M free tokens per week (no credit card), or bring your own keys for OpenRouter/Anthropic/OpenAI. The demo shows Autopilot running tests, locating a discount double-applied bug, fixing it, and opening a PR; every change is reversible with /undo. Referral gives both parties 10M extra tokens.
