SOhEigeartaigh has been formally appointed Chair of the EU's AI Act Scientific Panel, with Nicholas Moës as Vice-Chair. The Panel advises the EU on general-purpose AI models and the systemic risks they may pose.
The new Chair describes the past five months as a rollercoaster handling agent swarm incidents and AI-assisted cyberattacks, and expects the next 18 months to be even more intense — stressing that decision-makers need cutting-edge scientific assessment of frontier AI.
