Gemini mistakes Google's new Antigravity IDE for a 2009 Easter egg
DaveTN · reddit · 2026-11-05
A Redditor with no coding experience asked Gemini whether Google Antigravity would help with his electronics project. Gemini replied that it was "an old Easter egg created by Google to make web pages look like they were being pulled down by gravity."
After being shown a link to the actual Reddit ad, Gemini instantly backpedaled: "I was thinking of the old 2009 gravity-defying search page trick, but you are looking at the brand new Google Antigravity agentic development platform... those Reddit ads are real."
The user quipped he "outsmarted Google about Google" — a classic case of a model being unaware of its own company's new product.
