Facebook's /fb-answers/ directory: 6M+ AI-generated pages pulling millions of search visits

SEO consultant Saul Westbrook documented Facebook's /fb-answers/ directory, which Facebook began populating in July 2026 and now has 6M+ indexed URLs ranking across blue links, AI Overviews, and AI Mode.
The pages consist of AI-generated content targeting countless queries, augmented with public Facebook shares, and heavily interlinked with "related pages" in the directory — seemingly with no editorial oversight. Over 180 English pages on Padel Tennis alone were found.
Third-party SEO data shows the directory's organic traffic surging to 27.7M monthly visits (roughly a 40M/month increase overall), with 1.29M keywords and an estimated traffic cost of $18.9M — a striking case of a platform itself committing what Google calls "scaled content abuse."
