Adobe's Dramarrator turns books into editable audio dramas with a single prompt
amypavel · x · 2026-11-05
Adobe Research presented Dramarrator at UIST 2026, an experimental tool for audio drama production built on object-based audio editing.
- It extracts story objects (characters, scenes) from books, generates linked speech, sound effects and music, and composes a multi-track drama
- Edits to any object (e.g. a character's voice) automatically propagate to all dependent assets
- A professional user study (N=8) showed significantly lower task load, and a 300-person listener study found creator-refined output approaches the quality of existing professional productions
