Tencent Hunyuan released Hy4, a new open model with vision capabilities, claiming it sits firmly among leading open models across finance, frontend, game, office work, and research use cases, with cyber/biosecurity considerations built in.
The engineer responsible for the entire agent harness, @zhangkechi, shared behind-the-scenes details: he spent extensive time building agent infrastructure supporting the full model pipeline and resolving constant friction between agents and training (jokingly the "firefighting captain"), contributing across SFT, RL, eval, and the inference chain. His verdict: "Hy4 is worth it."
