oxus: MCP server lets agents search Mac via Spotlight instead of crawling with find

oxus is a Swift stdio MCP server giving agents direct access to macOS Spotlight, with two tools (spotlightquery and search). Key insight: macOS privacy protection silently omits /Downloads, /Documents and /Desktop from results when access is missing—oxus detects this and returns unreadableFolders with the exact System Settings toggle to grant access. Install via Homebrew, works with Claude Code/Desktop and any local-command client. The author also documented using it for TDD with an AI pair: ten increments with written contracts in docs/increments.
