Replace LLM judges with decision models across four RAG pipeline stages for speed and cost
kalyan_kpl · x · 2026-11-05
LLM judges are widely used to make decisions across RAG pipelines but are expensive and add latency. The author proposes swapping them for smaller, faster decision models at four stages: query routing, retrieved chunk filtering, claim verification, and answer quality checks. Judgment tasks that don't need full generation capability can run on lightweight decision models at a fraction of the cost.
