Anthropic shares Claude Code trick: run Sonnet, Haiku and Opus as builder, scout and advisor

Anthropic shared a cost-saving pattern for Claude Code: instead of having your most powerful model do everything, assign each Claude model a fixed role.
- Sonnet (5.5): leads the session, makes decisions, writes the code
- Haiku (5.5): explores the codebase, reads docs, handles parallel research
- Opus (5.5): acts as senior advisor, stepping in only when Sonnet needs a second opinion, gets stuck on repeated errors, or needs a final review
Entry point: claude --advisor opus --subagents haiku. The idea is to get Opus-level reasoning without burning Opus tokens on file searches, doc lookups, and routine coding — "Sonnet builds, Haiku explores, Opus advises."
The post also quotes the author's open-source app Napkin to 3D Print, built on Kimi K3.1 Pro (live on Nebius): upload a hand-sketch photo, Kimi writes parametric CadQuery code (all dimensions in one PARAMS dict), the app renders it from 4 angles in a sandbox and self-checks against the sketch with PASS/REVISE, yielding a printable STL in 4.5 minutes for about $0.15.
