MiniMax H3 I2V shows texture boiling and 4-frame pulse artifacts on static scenes
Downtown-Term-5254 · reddit · 2026-11-05
A ComfyUI user reports two artifacts when generating 5.17s vertical clips with MiniMax H3 I2VA (fl2va checkpoint, turbo LoRA): shimmering "boiling" on fine static textures (frost, snow, night sky), and a regular pulse every 4 frames — frame-difference analysis shows spikes at frames 6, 10, 14, 19... (mean diff 1.3, spikes 2.6), suspected to stem from the VAE's 4x temporal compression. Setup: RTX 3060 12GB, 0.6MP generation upscaled to 1080x1920 with RTX VSR. They ask whether tiled VAE decode/temporal overlap helps, whether higher resolution or the turbo LoRA causes boiling, and which post-fix (deflicker nodes, frame blending, ffmpeg hqdn3d/atadenoise, or a light video-to-video re-pass) works best.
