Robotics sim platform startups are coming: data collection and sim-as-a-service
carlosdponx · x · 2026-11-05
Reacting to the claim that "simulation platforms for robotics" startups won't be a thing, @carlosdponx predicts the opposite: robotics is heating up as frontier LLMs start genuinely moving results, so an avalanche of sim-platform startups is coming.
For software-background founders, he sees two comfortable entry points: data collection and simulation-as-a-service. The counterargument on the other side: agents are already good enough that nobody needs software to make working with simulation easier, and no humans will be touching that stuff anyway. A useful disagreement for robotics founders to weigh.
