At WSJ's Tech event, Amazon MGM head Hopkins said the studio dropped Luca Guadagnino's Sam Altman biopic "Artificial" because "the story, the actual movie, didn't match the ethos of what we thought we were making."
He said he made the call himself and Jeff Bezos was not involved. Amazon, a major OpenAI investor and compute supplier, ultimately decided "somebody else would do a better job" and sold the film to studio Neon in June.
