OpenAI added speed and benchmark details for GPT-Image-2.6: at low quality, Flare can generate an image in as little as six seconds.
Per Design Arena, GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst is now #1 on Image Arena for text-to-image, overtaking its predecessor 2.5 Sunburst. The 2.6 models redefined the Preference vs Speed Pareto frontier for both generation and editing—no model is currently both better and faster. Category wins: Flare tops Portraits, Architecture & Typography; Sunburst tops Product & Landscape. Flare is 2.6× faster than its predecessor, Sunburst 1.15×.
