BrowserForge: open-source MCP server gives agents your real browser with human approval gates
mostafazog · reddit · 2026-11-05
The author open-sourced BrowserForge (MIT, v0.2): a Chrome/Firefox extension plus local MCP server that lets agents work in your already-logged-in browser session.
Safety highlights: consequential actions (submit, send, pay, upload, passwords) pause until you click approve in the extension popup; no arbitrary JS execution tool; page content is returned marked untrusted; everything stays on 127.0.0.1.
It also turns agent-caused traffic into OpenAPI specs and typed API clients (no LLM in analysis), and records tasks as replayable flows exportable to Playwright/Selenium. Built with heavy Claude Code help, hand-tested on Linux.
