LLM Era May Leave Only Three Software Roles: PMs, Factory Maintainers, LLM Adversaries

chrislciaba argues that if LLMs keep improving at this rate, software will have just three roles: product managers; software factory maintainers (DevOps focused on keeping the factory running); and LLM adversaries — today's Staff+ engineers good enough to be legitimately adversarial to an LLM on security, over-engineering, test coverage and alignment. He expects very few of the latter and doubts other roles survive.
