Extend's MIT-licensed open-source document UI kit, Extend UI, is approaching 2M monthly npm downloads with 1.6k GitHub stars and official team support, and is already in production at several large AI startups and enterprises.
The kit covers the full document-interaction surface: DOCX editor/viewer (rich text, comments, tracked changes, tables), PDF viewer (text selection, search, thumbnails, bounding-box overlays) and editor (highlights, annotations, redaction, form filling, page reordering), XLSX viewer/editor (formulas, frozen panes, merged cells), in-browser PPT rendering, and virtualized CSV/TSV grids.
The team also highlighted public projects built on it: kortix's CompanyOS (AI agents across company tools), OpenMeld (human-agent shared workspace), Jevbox (document Q&A with page-level citations), and Neutree's self-hosted agent platform.
