Rendering a 3D character in Blender, then AI-realistic-ing and animating it for 46 credits
Yobrogamer · reddit · 2026-11-05
The author tested a "Blender first, AI for the last mile" pipeline: render a Mixamo character in Blender (free/local), use Morphic to turn it photorealistic, then feed a 2s render looped to 4s as motion reference for Morphic's motion-transfer video (total 46 credits, 40 for the animation).
Honest caveats: motion transfer is approximate, not 1:1 skeletal retargeting; identity, armor and sword stayed consistent in the sampled short idle animation, but that may not hold for longer or dynamic motion. Stock Mixamo assets were used deliberately since the pipeline itself was the thing under test. Comparison image: Blender render vs. AI realistic still vs. AI-animated frame.
