Launch HN: Kino AI lets 5+ agents and humans co-edit the same video timeline

Kino AI (YC S23) launched on HN as a media manager and video editor built for humans and coding agents (Codex, Claude Code) to collaborate on one timeline, with storage, review links and real-time multiplayer cursors.
It is code-first: all editing, motion graphics, timeline manipulation, comments and 3D scenes are expressed as code on top of Remotion — the team essentially built a WYSIWYG editor for React first, then turned it into a video editor. Footage is transcribed, embedded, described and face-detected on ingest, with low-res proxies uploaded so teammates and cloud inference can reference it.
For their launch video, 5+ agents edited the timeline concurrently while a friend's agent swarm worked minutes ahead; agents handled rotoscoping and LLM-driven color grading via LUTs. The author even had Claude-with-Kino find a macOS Leopard install disk and reskin the whole video in that style. His thesis: Opus 5.5 can already edit video and do motion graphics, but a raw agent harness lacks shared footage and structured feedback — the gaps Kino fills.
