Verne launches open-weight V0.5 foundation model for industrial robots, leads LIBERO and RoboTwin 2.0

Robotics startup Verne introduced V0.5, an open-weight world action model for teams deploying robots in real industrial settings, claiming the leading US-made open-weight results on LIBERO and RoboTwin 2.0 benchmarks. The year-old team rebuilt its training stack from scratch after hitting deployment challenges, betting on video pretraining as the most scalable path to robot intelligence and pairing a fast System 1 action model with a System 2 reasoning layer for planning. Its robots already work in semiconductor cleanrooms, cold-storage facilities, and large warehouses.
