Enterprise AI spend hits 4.7x last year vs a planned 1.9x, Menlo Ventures finds
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-11-05
Per Menlo Ventures, enterprises badly underestimated AI's appetite: average 2026 AI spend reached 4.7x 2025 levels against a planned 1.9x (+147% over budget), while the median overshot only modestly (2.2x vs 1.8x planned). The mean-median gap shows a small group of heavy agent users is driving most of the surge.
