Anaconda maps AI compliance into 2027: EU AI Act live, NIST as reference
anacondainc · x · 2026-11-05
Anaconda's blog breaks down the AI compliance landscape heading into 2027.
EU AI Act: The August 2, 2026 general application date activated Article 50 transparency rules — chatbots must disclose they're AI, synthetic content needs machine-readable marking, emotion recognition requires notice, and deepfakes/public-interest AI text must be labeled. Generative AI already on the market has until Dec 2, 2026 to comply; the European AI Office now holds oversight powers.
NIST as common reference: CAISI launched an AI Agent Standards Initiative (Feb 17, 2026) built on industry standards, open-source protocols, and agent security research; an RMF Profile for trustworthy AI in critical infrastructure is still under discussion.
Technical baseline: OWASP LLM Top 10 and MITRE ATLAS carry no fines but show up regularly in vendor security questionnaires — buyers treat voluntary frameworks as mandatory.
