IV Studio: open-source local film studio on ComfyUI + MiniMax H3, idea to short film
itsVariance · reddit · 2026-11-05
IV Studio, an MIT-licensed Windows desktop app built for Comfy's Open Source Higgsfield challenge, drives your own ComfyUI over its API to take a short film from idea to finish without touching node graphs. Features include local-model prompt writing (Qwen3-VL via Ollama or agents over MCP) with an auto-fixer for H3-hostile prompt mistakes, take ranking by Whisper-heard dialogue/likeness/sharpness with latent-consistent finishing via DLSS 5 or SeedVR2, a six-step project wizard that films each shot from storyboard sketches for consistency, a top-down staging board that converts placements into screen directions, and an editor that extends shots, fills gaps and rotoscopes with SAM 3.1. Also bundles LoRA training, MiniMax Music 3/ACE-Step scoring, VoxCPM2 voices, and a 142-tool MCP server. Tested on a 4090; 16GB cards work with smaller previews, and Runpod/Modal rendering auto-shuts idle GPUs.
