Uber Fulfilled Just 4 Rides Booked by AI Agents Last Quarter
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-11-04
Uber executives disclosed for the first time how many orders on its platform were actually placed by third-party AI agents. In Q3 2026, only 4 rides were arranged by AI agents. On the delivery side the number was somewhat higher: about 500 Uber Eats orders were fulfilled by AI agents during the week of Halloween.
For context, Uber handled 320 million rides and deliveries that week, making agent-driven volume negligible.
The disclosure comes as agents like Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots fuel predictions that AI agents will soon book rides and food at scale — the numbers suggest that shift is still far off.
