Wiblin: Congress should demand frontier-model access to stop AI power grabs
robertwiblin · x · 2026-11-04
Robert Wiblin argues rules preventing any president from using AI to concentrate power could clear 67 votes. He proposes congressional committees get frontier-model access on the same terms as the White House (citing the intelligence-committee precedent), and attaching to the defense bill checks against backdoored AI military systems and executive-branch power grabs — in Republicans' own enlightened interest given 2028 outlook. Toby Ord adds the filibuster needs only 60 votes and Democrats hold 54-56 seats.
