BioSimBench launches: frontier models only partially predict real cell responses to drugs
SimplyAnnisa · x · 2026-11-04
A new benchmark, BioSimBench, tests whether AI can simulate biology by predicting how real cells respond to drugs, gene knockdowns, and immune signals. Frontier models get only part of it right.
The team also built BioSimGym, an RL environment used to train a 27B model that outscores the best frontier models on every task, suggesting domain-specific RL training beats general-purpose models on biological simulation.
