Sequoia closes London office, unifies into one team a year after generational transition

Sequoia Capital's anniversary letter "The Sequoia of Tomorrow" reveals major changes a year after its generational transition: the firm is closing its London office, with several people leaving—not because of team quality, but because Sequoia sees no need for local presence and believes it can support European outlier founders from the Bay Area. Sequoia is also eliminating the "Early & Growth" split, operating as one team under one shared mission. Investor Nathan Benaich framed the move as "Europe in managed decline."
