Indie developer thejaan built Loitering NYC, a site where an AI model has scored 23,641 upcoming New York City events from 0 to 10 on how easy they make talking to strangers. It reads curated newsletters and every event calendar it can find; gatherings with light themes, no sales pitch and open access score high, while talks, performances and shows score low since everyone faces one speaker. Each event carries a one-line AI explanation, and users can browse the top 100 events per day. A companion resource, Social Fabric NYC, curates low-cost, interaction-first community 'portals' across the city.
