OpenAI's Agents API brings Computer Use to your apps via hosted Codex sessions
gabrielchua · x · 2026-11-04
OpenAI announced that you can now bring Computer Use to your own agents and apps with the Agents API: your app gets a managed Codex session plus a browser that runs entirely in the cloud.
As a demo, the team built a simple app where you can watch Codex draw live in tldraw. The API streams events and screenshots, so every run can be played back.
Integration is cheap: it takes 2–3 lines of config to add Computer Use to a hosted session — or you can just ask Codex to do it.
