Stolen iPhone can email you its location the moment the thief charges it—here's the Shortcuts setup
TawohAwa · x · 2026-11-04
A viral tip shows how to use the iOS Shortcuts app to build an anti-theft automation: when the phone connects to a charger, it turns off Airplane Mode, enables Cellular Data, grabs the current location at Best precision, and silently emails the full address and coordinates to you.
If your iPhone gets stolen, you'll get an email with its exact location as soon as the thief plugs it in—best paired with Find My. Limitation: it won't trigger if the thief powers the phone off.
